I really have been thinking a lot about how so many people's main problem with pedophilia, zoophilia, etc. seems to be that they're "deviant" and not really that they're actively harmful. Like when you see "pro-kink" right up there on someone's "phobes and philes DNI" carrd you really start to notice this. People do not do bad things because they have some kind of Ontologically Evil Bad Brain Sex Disease that makes them Deviate From The Norm. As the last post I rb'd said, there are lots of environments where sexual harassment is completely normalized and seen as "the sexual norm" for heterosexual men, and that still doesn't make it okay. Abuse is very rarely about "actual attraction" and almost always about power. As long as your condemnation of abuse continues to be "bad people with bad brain do not tnormal things" instead of an awareness and condemnation of the systems of power that allow abuse to keep happening, you're not only not going to really get anywhere, but you'll continue accidentally supporting reactionary politics about "sexual deviants" in the process.
